Natalie Balkow (born December 18, 1968 in Cologne ) is a German writer and copywriter , best known for winning the Ernst Willner Prize in 2005.

biography

Natalie Balkow was born in Cologne and grew up in Mönchengladbach . There she graduated from high school. Natalie Balkow, who now lives in Mönchengladbach and Berlin, studied Sinology , English , German and theater studies . This was followed by assistant dramaturgy and director to the artistic director Frank-Patrick Steckel at the Schauspielhaus Bochum as well as numerous engagements as a freelance director.

Today she works as a copywriter in an advertising agency and as an author . She also publishes at the Central Intelligence Agency .

In 2005, at the invitation of Klaus Nüchtern , she went to the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize , the Days of German-Language Literature in Klagenfurt , where she won the Ernst Willner Prize with the laconic “Above, where nothing is left” . In 2006 she won second prize at the MDR literature competition for “Sunday Children” .
