Natalja Igorewna Bessmertnowa
Natalja Igorewna Bessmertnowa ( Russian: Наталья Игоревна Бессмертнова , scientific transliteration Natal'ja Igorevna Bessmertnova ; * July 19, 1941 in Moscow ; † February 19, 2008 ibid) was a Soviet prima ballerina at the Bolshoi Theater .
biography
From 1953 to 1961 she was trained in the ballet school of the Bolshoi Theater. Her trainers included Marija Koschuchowa , Sofija Golowkina and Marina Semjonowa . During her training, she danced for the first time on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater in 1958. In 1961 Bessmertnowa finished her training as the first student in the history of theater with an A + grade in the final examination. From 1961 to 1988 she was the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet . Afterwards she worked as a trainer in the theater until 1995.
Bessmertnowa was married to the former director of the theater, Yuri Grigorowitsch . Like her husband, she left the Bolshoi in 1995 in a dispute over the future style after the end of the Soviet era. She could not see "the death of this valuable asset of Russian art", she said at the time.
