Am Tierkoven nature reserve
The nature reserve Am Tierkoven is a 6.3 hectare nature reserve (NSG) east of Deilinghofen in the urban area of Hemer in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated as NSG by ordinance in 1988 and 2008 by the Arnsberg district government . The NSG is right on the edge of the village.
Area description
The NSG is a former coppice forest that was later converted into spruce forest. The spruce stock should be converted back to deciduous forest after being designated. There is also a juniper heather in the NSG. Pingen and heaps in the area are evidence of earlier mining activities.
