The NSG is forest and grassland. The NSG Duloh covers the western part of the former military training area Duloh-Löbbeckenkopf. The majority of the NSG is planted with deciduous forest. On the lime-rich subsoil, deciduous forest stands have developed due to the use of the land, with a high proportion of birch, ash and hornbeam. The stands, some of which are used like coppice forests , have a species-rich herb layer . In the west of the NSG there is an ash-dominated slope debris forest. In the forest area, remains of former military use can be found fighting stalls, trenches and bomb craters.

The north and east of the NSG is dominated by poor grassland. On the gravel paths, small areas of poor grass with a tendency to limestone grass have developed. In the northeast of the NSG there are smaller standing ponds with surrounding wet grassland. The area is also a habitat for the common frog .

The protected area is criss-crossed by a network of paths that are heavily used by pedestrians.

According to the IUCN Protected Areas Categories System of the International Union for the Preservation of Nature and Natural Resources , the NSG Duloh-Löbbecken-Kopf is a biotope and species protection area (identifier WDPA ID 318310), for the conservation of which targeted interventions are made. In the case of grassland, this takes the form of mowing or sheep grazing.
