The Riemke nature reserve , whose name was former clarification pond north of Riemke until August 2015 , is a 10.52 hectare nature reserve north of Riemke in the urban area of Hemer in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated for the first time in 1989 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the landscape plan No. 2 Balve-Mittleres-Hönnetal under the name of the nature reserve former clearing pond of Riemke, town of Hemer . The NSG was re-designated in 2015 by the district council of the Märkisches Kreis with the 2nd amendment to landscape plan No. 2 Balve-Mittleres-Hönnetal under the name Riemke .

Area description

The NSG is a former clarification pond of the lime processing plant near Oberrödinghausen (today Rheinkalk ). In the silting area, reed stands of reeds and broad-leaved cattails with bittersweet nightshade have formed. Since 1988, the marsh stendrums from the orchid family have been growing in the nature reserve through anointing . The Riemke NSG has also become a habitat for the six-spotted ram .
