Biggen quarry nature reserve
The Biggen quarry nature reserve is an 11.5 hectare nature reserve east of Attendorn in the Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . It was temporarily secured in 2003 when the Attendorn - Heggen-Helden landscape plan was drawn up and designated by the district council in 2006 with landscape plan no. 3 Attendorn - Heggen-Helden . The nature reserve Auwald Biggen is only separated by the Landstrasse 539 to the south of the NSG. The Atta Cave nature reserve is located southwest of the NSG .
Area description
The NSG is the former limestone quarry there. The eagle owl occurs in the area.
