history

The company was founded in 1873 in Paper City Neenah , Wisconsin . In 1902, the Neenah Paper Mill was taken over by Kimberly-Clark . In 2004, Kimberly-Clark separated its regular paper business as Neenah . All tissue paper business remained with Kimberly-Clark. In 2015 the competitor Fibermark was taken over with five paper mills .

Locations

Since the company was founded, there has been a paper mill in Neenah, now with two paper machines. Also in Wisconsin are the paper mills in Appleton and Whiting . Additional locations in the United States are in Brattleboro (formerly Fibermark), Brownville (formerly Fibermark), Great Barrington (Massachusetts), Lowville (formerly Fibermark), Munising , Pittsfield and Quakertown (formerly Fibermark).

Neenah is represented internationally with production sites in Eerbeek, the Netherlands, and in Bolton (formerly Fibermark) in the United Kingdom.

Neenah in Germany

In 1955, Gessner & Co. GmbH was founded in Bruckmühl . In 2006 Gessner was taken over by Neenah. Today the company operates a paper mill in Bruckmühl and one at its current headquarters in Feldkirchen-Westerham . Neenah-Gessner mainly produces papers for filters in the automotive industry (air filters, oil filters, etc.) as well as papers for sandpaper and adhesive tapes.
