Nelarabine is a rare nucleoside . It consists of a furanose (sugar) and 6- O -methylguanine . It contains - in contrast to most nucleosides - instead of β- D -Ribofuranose the β- D -Arabinofuranose and thus belongs to the group of arabinosyl nucleosides . The corresponding nucleoside with ribose is 6- O -methylguanosine . Nelarabine is used as a cytostatic drug .
