Nelson Stoll

Nelson Stoll (born before 1970) is a sound engineer .

Life

Stoll began his career in 1970 with the documentary music film Gimme Shelter on the Rolling Stones' USA tour in 1969. Until the early 1980s, Stoll was mainly active in documentaries. That changed in 1984 when he was working on two Hollywood productions with The Desert Planet and Electric Dreams . For his work in film, Stoll was twice nominated for an Oscar in the Best Sound category: 1985 together with Bill Varney , Steve Maslow and Kevin O'Connell for Der Wüstenplanet and in 1991 together with Michael J. Kohut , Carlos Delarios and Aaron Rochin for Die total recall .

For his work for television he was nominated three times for the Primetime Emmy between 1991 and 2012 ; In 1991 he won the award for his contribution to General Custer's Final Battle miniseries about the Battle of Little Bighorn .
