history

The earliest known documentary mention comes from August 7th, 1285, when Bishop Bartholomeus of Großwardein awarded the customs and tax income from Olazy, Neudorf and Sankt-Lorenz to the Großwardeiner chapter. In 1322 Voivode Thomas assigned the Neudorf estate to Weissenburg County , and in 1340 the Provincial Assembly of the Sibiu Chair recognized the property rights of the Apafi family residing in neighboring Malmkrog . In the course of the Transylvanian uprising of 1467, Michael Apafi von Malmkrog was expropriated by King Matthias Corvinus , but received his property back in 1468. The small, unfortified church with its single tower can be dated to the last third of the 15th century.

tourism

To increase the tourist attraction of the region, it was equipped with a network of hiking trails. A marked hiking trail connects Neudorf with the neighboring town of Malmkrog (Mălâncrav).
