Neuenbeuthen is a district of Drognitz in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district . The fulfilling municipality for Drognitz is the municipality of Kaulsdorf in Thuringia .

Geography and geology

Neuenbeuthen is located southwest of Drognitz on a high plateau of the southeast Thuringian slate mountains to the left of the Saale on the Hohenwarte reservoir . The soils of the usable areas have a high proportion of fine earth and an above-average humus content . With these soil fertility factors, stable yields can be achieved under the climatic conditions.

The place lies on a partial plateau above the Lothratal and the great Otterbach. From here you can see the surrounding area and the upper course of the Saale. The road connection is via the L 2366 with a stop shortly before the village.

history

The first documentary mention of the village was on August 7, 1136. The church, built in 1575, was demolished in 1769 due to its disrepair . A new church was built in its place. The place belonged to the electoral office of Ziegenrück until 1815 and after its assignment, decided at the Congress of Vienna , came to the Prussian district of Ziegenrück , to which the place belonged until 1945.

On January 1, 1997 Neuenbeuthen was incorporated into Drognitz.

tourism
