New Glass from Old Shards , New Glass / Acoustic and ElektRio are German bands from the Ton Steine Scherben and Rio Reiser . Dirk Schlömer, a former member of Ton-Steine-Scherben, and guitarist Leander Reininghaus are active in all three bands.

New glass made from old shards began as a kind of cover band for clay stones shards. With Rebellendisko , an album with their own compositions was released in 2001. The band has also released two live albums so far. Today it consists of Dirk Schlömer, Mischka (former member of the Rio Reiser band ), Leander Reininghaus and Martin Krutzig.

Michael Kiessling (Bukowski Waits) and Dirk Schlömer founded a non-electric, more compact version of New Glass from Old Shards under the name New Glass / acoustic in 2002 . Then there was Leander Reininghaus (student of Robert Fripp ), who also came to the main band. The band's repertoire consists of the classics of the clay stones shards, compositions by Rio Reiser and the songs of New Glass from old shards.

ElektRio arose again from the acoustic project. The project performs live and plays songs by Ton Steine Scherben and Rio Reiser in a smaller cast. In addition to Schlömer and Reininghaus, drummer Alexander Jovanovic ( Sissi Metal ) is a member of the band.
