Neukirch is a district of Rottweil , between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb . Together with the associated hamlet Vaihingerhof , the place has around 600 inhabitants. The village is surrounded by Plettenberg , Wochenberg and Lemberg .

history

The village was first mentioned around 1120. On January 1, 1973 it was incorporated into the town of Rottweil.

On September 11, 1992, the parish church, the village's landmark that can be seen from afar, burned down to the ground during renovation work. It was rebuilt in its original state and inaugurated on April 2, 1995 by Bishop Walter Kasper .

Economy and Infrastructure

The Im Eferen industrial park was founded in the early 1980s between Zepfenhanerstraße and Bundesstraße 27 . A new building area is located in Engelsburgweg. There is a bakery in the center of the village. Since October 2012, the Im Eferen industrial park has been directly connected to the B 27 with an entrance, so that local traffic is relieved.

Neukirch is divided into two halves by Bundesstraße 27. Thanks to the local transport concept that was introduced in 2000, a bus runs ten times a day to Balingen and Rottweil.

Social institutions and organizations

The Musikkapelle Neukirch eV was founded in 1906 and today has around 40 members.

The school, built in 1965, is attended by students from grades 1 to 4 from the Neukirch, Vaihingerhof and Zepfenhan districts.

In 1966 the TSV Neukirch eV was founded

Neukirch has had a town house since 2005, which can be used by all locals and residents of neighboring towns for club and private parties. The city of Rottweil and the municipality are making a youth room in the town hall available for the young people. The Neukirch youth ring has been under new management since 2012, which is again increasingly committed to public relations and social engagement such as the village championship and “village cleaning” in the village.

politics

On December 5th, 1978 mayor Paul Grimm retired after 32 years at the head of the community. Following the local elections, the town council of Rottweil elected Josef Ziegler as honorary mayor at the suggestion of the local council. He held this honorary position for more than 25 years.

The incumbent mayor has been Kendy Scharein since 2017.
