The Neumannmühle is the youngest of three surviving post mills in Oderwitz .
The mill was originally built around 1850 in the Bohemian town of Ullersdorf . However, it was transported to its current location on the 386-meter-high Kühnelsberg in 1867 with the help of 18 horse drawn carts.
The wings of the mill are each nine meters long and weigh 750 kilograms. The impeller can be turned into the wind via rails embedded in the ground. The mill has a total capacity of 5000 kilograms of grain. A bakery was in the adjacent mill house.
In 1956 the mill was decommissioned. In 1991 the Neumannmühle, together with the Berndtmühle and the Birkmühle, were awarded the Europa Nostra Prize for outstanding achievements in the field of cultural heritage conservation. Today it can be visited by tourists.
