List of windmills in Saxony

The list of windmills in Saxony gives an overview of the well-known windmills of different conservation status in the Free State of Saxony .

Bad Düben Dübener post mill Post mill 1840 Built in Glesien in 1840 and operated until 1960. Due to the expansion of Leipzig-Halle Airport, the windmill had to be relocated. In 2006 the windmill was reconstructed and rebuilt.

Beilrode Dutch windmill Beilrode Tower Dutchman 1870 In 1908 an electric motor was installed. In operation until 1978 and listed as a historical monument in 1984. Since 2002, after reconstruction, it has been windy and grindable again.

Brinnis Post mill until 1948, then converted into a motor mill 1860 Described in 1819 as a wind oil mill, in 1860 homestead was rebuilt and operated commercially until 1960. Restoration 1998/99. Use for residential purposes since 2011, technology partially preserved.

Eilenburg Bechers Mill Tower Dutchman 1863 From 1931 to 1936 the mill was driven by an oil motor, then by an electric motor. The rods were dismantled around 1954. After a fire in 1962, the mill was stopped. After extensive renovation work, the mill was reopened to visitors for the first time on the 2011 German Milling Day.

Glaucha Wolkwitz post mill Post mill 1748/49 The mill received an electric drive in 1927. In 1961 the wings were badly damaged by a storm and renewed in 1983. The windmill is completely intact and is still used today to help the neighbors for grating.

Kühnitzsch Kühnitz windmill Post mill Mentioned for the first time in 1588 in the list of windmills, first in the church book in 1672. 1812 reconstruction in its present form. Grain was ground until 1974 (also with an Elt engine), in 1978 the mill was handed over to the Kühnitzsch community for preservation as a technical monument. In 1992 the wings were reinstalled, and today the local heritage association looks after the mill.

Reibitz Werbeliner post mill Post mill 1844 Built in Werbelin in 1844. In 1991 the place and the mill had to give way to lignite mining and were dismantled. In 1994 the mill was rebuilt in the Reibitz school camp.
