The mill was built around 1850 and was for sale in 1862 with two grinding courses. In 1905 it burned down completely as a result of a lightning strike. Reconstruction with later heightening of the conical natural stone masonry. Milling was only carried out with electric power until 1956, from 1948 onwards. The successor building - here in the picture - was preserved in Scherbda until 1947 and was then deliberately destroyed. In 1926, the north Hessian painter Wilhelm Schott Scherbda visited and made a painting of this mill. Their location was at the eastern end of Lindenstrasse. Because the miller's wife was murdered in a robbery, the mill was also called Mordmühle . It no longer exists.
(2.) The mill and house on the northern outskirts were demolished after 1950. It was at the northern end of the mountain road.

According to the deed about the sale of land by the city of Zeulenroda, it is documented that a piece of land was sold in 1711 to the windmill Gerhard Stöckert to build a windmill in front of the Greizer suburb. The windmill was bought and repaired again by the city for 400 Aßo (old shock) in 1722. Since it paid off badly, it was sold to a Christoph Walbe in 1722 for 342 aces, 18 groschen. Walbe moved away from Zeulenroda again in 1728.
