Kischlitz is a hamlet-like district of Petersberg in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia .

Kischlitz is a hamlet-like village (own district ) 500 m northwest of Petersberg and connected to the traffic with a local road. Connection to the state road 1070 from Spy to Camburg is 500 m after Rauschwitz in the direction of Mertendorf . The village was laid out as a Rundling by the Slavs .
history
Kischlitz was first mentioned in a document on May 25, 1301. The scattered location of the hamlet-like villages was intentional, because one wanted to get to the areas to be cultivated with little effort and later spend less time working the fields.
Kischlitz belonged as an exclave to the office of Weißenfels , which in the course of its existence belonged to the Electorate of Saxony , to the Principality of Saxony-Weißenfels and from 1806 to the Kingdom of Saxony . Through the Congress of Vienna , the place came to Prussia in 1815 with the office of Weißenfels and its district of Weißenfels was incorporated into the province of Saxony . Kischlitz thus remained surrounded by the Eisenberg district office and, from 1876, by the Roda administrative office of the duchies of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg and Saxony-Altenburg . After the establishment of the Free State of Thuringia in 1920, the place remained a Prussian exclave.
In 2011, 29 people lived in the hamlet. There is a car upholstery and a quarry or sand pit in the district.
