Loßwig is a district of the city of Torgau in the northern Saxony district in Saxony .

The district Loßwig is located on the federal highway 182 in front of the southeast entrance to the city of Torgau in the Torgauer Elbaue on an elevated sandy terrace. The village is connected to the main road by a road.

history

The street village Loßwig with an area of ​​913 hectares (1885) was mentioned as Loskewitz as early as 1243 . From 1314, the agricultural town was subject to the respective social authority based in Torgau. In 1529, 26 people worked in the developing village. In 1818 there were already 220 and in 1946 a total of 564 residents. In 1990 the population was 395.

The citizens were mostly evangelical , but in different places ( Kunzwerda and Pülswerda ).

On January 1, 1994, the municipalities of Loßwig, Beckwitz , Mehderitzsch , Staupitz and Weßnig were merged to form a new municipality of Pflückuff . This came to Torgau on January 1st, 2009.
