Kunzwerda is a district of the city of Torgau in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

location

The agricultural district of Kunzwerda is located southeast of the city of Torgau directly on the eastern edge of the Elbe meadows . The Rundlingsdorf is located on an elevated, sandy terrace of the Elbe lowlands at the gates of Torgau. The federal highway 182 is west.

history

The district developed from a single property. In 1256 the estate settlement was named Werder . From this the name Cunzwerda developed by 1791 . This name corresponds to the current place name . Around 1516 the individual property was a Vorwerk . Later, two farms worked the soil on 130 hectares in the surrounding area. Then the Vorwerke became a manor , which was declared a manor in 1816. After 1945 the estate was nationalized.

The companies and residents were officially subordinated to the respective responsible offices in Torgau. The 60–70 residents parish church to Weßnig around 1800 . On January 1, 2009 the rural Kunzwerda was incorporated into the city of Torgau with other districts.
