Werdau is a district of the city of Torgau in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

location

The incorporated district of Werdau is east of the city of Torgau on the edge of the Elbe meadows in the Aue. The Graditz district is located southeast of Werdau .

history

The line village Werdau owns 254 hectares of land. The district is divided into a block and strip corridor. The place name Wert first developed in 1119, then on Werdau through several derivatives in 1825. In 1747 ten people lived in what was then the hamlet . In 1818 there were already 97 and in 1946 175. The official tasks were carried out by the offices in Torgau. The residents also went to church in Torgau .

On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Werdau was incorporated into Torgau.
