history

Göhrenz-Albersdorf station

The first mention of the place took place with a document from 1551, in which it is stated that Göhrenz will belong to the Hochstift-Merseburgischen Amt Lützen with immediate effect . From 1764, like Albersdorf, it was part of the Leipzig district office . Until 1815 they were on its western border. After the western part of the Lützen office was ceded to Prussia by the Congress of Vienna , the eastern part remained with Saxony and was incorporated into the Leipzig district office, so that Göhrenz and Albersdorf were no longer on the edge of the office. In 1856 both places came to the Markranstädt court office and in 1875 to the Leipzig district administration .

In 1897 the Leipzig-Plagwitz-Pörsten railway with the Göhrenz-Albersdorf station was opened. The operation was stopped in 1999; now the paved Elster-Saale cycle path runs along the former railway embankment to the entrance to Lützen .

On July 1, 1950, Albersdorf was incorporated into Göhrenz. 1952, with the division of Saxony into districts, his affiliation to Leipzig fell again and since 1994 Göhrenz belonged to the district of Leipziger Land . On March 1st, 1994 Göhrenz was incorporated into the town of Markranstädt. In the course of the amalgamation and formation of many districts, the entire district of Leipziger Land was incorporated into the new district of Leipzig in 2008. There is a factory in Göhrenz that generates electricity for the Leipzig district of Grünau and for the small town of Markranstädt .
