Neutiefenweg is a district of the municipality of Aholming in the Lower Bavarian district of Deggendorf . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Neutiefenweg is about three kilometers west of Aholming on the edge of the Isar valley on the flood plain of the Isar . The Isaraltwasser nature reserve is located north of Neutiefenweg.

history

After the Countess Kielmannsegg bought the Hofmark Niederpöring around 1829 , she gradually dissolved the property and established the Neutiefenweg colony around 1835. The first settlers were former castle servants from Niederpöring. Initially administered by the political municipality of Niederpöring, Neutiefenweg was raised to an independent municipality in 1845.

The dam broke during the floods of 1940. Well over a hundred hectares of land, residential buildings and stables were under water. People and animals had to be evacuated temporarily. After Neutiefenweg had been administered by the political municipality of Niederpöring from 1945 to 1948, it became an independent municipality in the Vilshofen district again in 1948 . From 1950 to 1952 the new flood dam was built, which withstood the heavy floods of 1954 and 1956.

In the course of the regional reform , the municipality of Neutiefenweg was incorporated into the municipality of Aholming on October 1, 1971. Today Neutiefenweg is a village with around 300 inhabitants. Most of the residents find work at companies in Plattling and at the BMW Dingolfing plant . Ecclesiastically, the place belongs to the parish of Niederpöring.
