location

Niederpöring is located on the right bank of the Isar about one kilometer northeast of Oberpöring.

history

Prehistoric finds indicate the early settlement of the Isar valley. In the first documentary records, no distinction is made between Ober- and Niederpöring. The first written message about “Peringe” comes from a list of goods from Niederaltaich Monastery from around 790. It is reported that the Bavarian Duke Odilo gave the monastery the place with 30 farms as well as all tributaries and serfs.

Around 1210, Count Palatine Rapoto II of Ortenburg gave the Niederaltaich monastery goods in “Perin”. The monastery received taxes from there in the 13th century. After 1406 it lent this property to Count Etzel von Ortenburg . In 1486 the noble Ulrich von Chamerau zu Haitzstein received the Niederpöring Castle with accessories as a fief. The Chamerau family remained in the possession of the Hofmark until the end of the 16th century . In 1599 it belonged to Christoph Bernhard von Seiboldstorf, his heir in 1603. In 1613 it was owned by Anna, widow of Christoph Bernhard von Goder, and in 1615 Hans Friedrich von Pienzenau zu Hartmannsberg was the owner. Until 1797 the people of Pienzenau are documented as the owners of Hofmark Niederpöring, which belonged to the Wisselsing office in the Osterhofen nursing court . The three golden spheres on the black sloping beam in today's municipal coat of arms of the municipality of Oberpöring come from the coat of arms of the Pienzenau.

In the year of conscription in 1752, the village of Niederpöring consisted of 44 properties. In 1795 Baron von Pinzenau ceded the Hofmark to his daughter Maria Anna Countess von Boetty. In 1803 Carl August von Yrsch became the new owner of the Hofmark. On April 9, 1830, he sold the property to Countess Auguste Charlotte von Kielmannsegg-Schönberg, who had the extensive property destroyed. The Hofmarksgericht soon ceased to exist.

A schoolhouse was built from 1831 to 1836. The municipality of Niederpöring came from the Landau an der Isar regional court to the new Osterhofen first class regional court in 1838 . With effect from April 1, 1949, Oberviehhausen came from the Wallerfing community to the Niederpöring community. In 1952 the districts Alttiefenweg, Niederpöring and Oberviehhausen belonged to the municipality of Niederpöring in the district of Vilshofen . On July 1, 1972, the municipality of Niederpöring was incorporated into the municipality of Oberpöring as part of the regional reform . The elementary school in Niederpöring was closed in 1978.

Attractions

  • The parish church of St. Bartholomew in the Niederpöring parish was built in the second half of the 13th century. The upper floor of the tower was built around 1650, the nave was changed in 1658/1659 and the side chapels were added. In 1908 the nave was extended to the west, and in 1956 the sacristy was enlarged. The original version of the high altar was created by a Landau master in 1698. The altarpiece shows the martyrdom of St. Bartholomew the Apostle. The side altars were created around 1660, the figures of the apostles date from the 18th century.
  • Niederpöring Castle : Baron Franz Ignaz von Pinzenau had the castle rebuilt around 1690 using older buildings. It was acquired in 1985 by the municipalities of Oberpöring , Otzing and Wallerfing , which are part of the Oberpöring administrative community , and in 1987 it was expanded into the administrative center.

archeology

In 2015, during excavations in Niederpöring, the skull and bones of a woman who died 7,000 years ago were found. Her face was reconstructed using modern technology, as used in criminology. The result can be viewed in the Quintana Museum in Künzing . As a headdress, the woman wore a leather strap adorned with about 400 shells of the now rare Danube barge snail . This jewelry indicates that the woman had a high social position. A total of seven graves from the period between 5500 and 5000 BC were found in one cemetery in Niederpöring. Excavated.
