The New Trier Township is a township with 55,424 inhabitants (as of 2010) and an area of 42.21 km². It is located north of Chicago in Cook County , Illinois , United States and borders Lake Michigan .
The New Trier Highschool from the New Trier Township has an image of the Porta Nigra from Trier , Germany in its logo . The boundaries of the school district of the New Trier High School are not exactly congruent with the boundaries of the New Trier Township.
The township includes the places Wilmette , Kenilworth , Winnetka , Glencoe and parts of Glenview and Northfield .
