New Trier is a place in Dakota County in Minnesota , United States . In 2000 the place had 116 inhabitants and was thus one of the smallest places constituted as a city .
history
The village was settled around 1856 and is named after the German city of Trier .

New Trier is within Hampton Township , not New Trier Township as one might suspect. The Minnesota State Route 50 leads as the main road through the town.
