New York Public Radio (NYPR) is the public broadcasting organization in the US state of New York and describes itself as the largest public radio network in the USA .

NYPR operates the three stations WNYC -FM, WNYC-AM and WQXR -FM. NYPR also operates New Jersey Public Radio and the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. As a member of the National Public Radio (NPR), Public Radio International (PRI) and American Public Media (APM) networks , NYPR is a permanent fixture on the US public radio scene.

Based on the number of employees, NYPR is now the second largest public radio network after Minnesota Public Radio (MPR). Around 110 people work for the organization in New York.

The Media Bias / Factcheck page classifies the WNYC programs as moderately liberal and mostly very reliable.

Stations

WNYC takes a leading role in the production of content for the nationwide public radio networks . WQXR is New York City's only full-time classical music channel.

In 2011 NYPR bought four New Jersey stations ( WNJT -FM, Trenton ; WNJB -FM, Sussex ; WNJY-FM , Netcong and WNJO -FM, Toms River ) and have been operating them as New Jersey Public Radio ever since .
