Negomane ( Negomano , Ngomano ) is a Mozambican town on the border with Tanzania .
geography
The place is on the south bank of the border river Rovuma in the province of Cabo Delgado . Here the Lugenda flows into the Rovuma.
population
Negomane has about 1,800 inhabitants (2005 estimate).
history
At the Battle of Ngomano on November 25, 1917 , German colonial troops defeated Portuguese units in the First World War .
Economy and Infrastructure
Since the completion of the unified bridge in 2010, it has been the only river crossing for vehicles and one of two crossings between Tanzania and Mozambique. Mtambaswala is on the Tanzanian side . The bridge was the last missing link in a continuous road link along the entire East African coast of the Indian Ocean .
