Nicholas A'Hern

Nicholas A'Hern ( Nicholas Mark "Nick" A'Hern ; born January 6, 1969 in Swansea , Wales , United Kingdom ) is a former Australian walker .

Career

He had his greatest successes at the Commonwealth Games, where he won gold medals twice: in 1994 in Victoria over 30 km and in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur over 20 km.

At the Olympic Games he came in 20 km walk in 1992 in Barcelona on 22nd, 1996 in Atlanta on fourth and 2000 in Sydney on tenth place. At the World Athletics Championships over the same distance, he finished 20th in Tokyo in 1991 , 24th in Stuttgart in 1993 , 11th in Gothenburg in 1995 , 19th in Athens in 1997 and 26th in Seville in 1999 .

From 1994 to 1998 he was five times in a row Australian champion in 20 km walking (1994: 30 km).

Nicholas A'Hern is a hairdresser and lives in Canberra . He started for the Nepean Athletic Club and was trained by Craig Hilliard.
