Nicholas James Wade is a British cognitive psychologist .

Life

Nicholas J. Wade is Professor Emeritus at the University of Dundee . He researches the human perception of space and movement, he also works on visual art. For the Oxford handbook of eye movements (2011) he and W. Tatler wrote the historical overview of the history of visual perception research . He took care of the translation and publication of historical works on perceptual psychology, such as Johann Joseph Oppel's work on optical illusion , works by Édouard Claparède , Galileo Galilei , Helmholtz , Johannes Müller's Handbuch der Physiologie , Domenico Ragona-Scinà , Silvanus Phillips Thompson , Marius Tscherning , William Charles Wells , Thomas Young, and others.

The magazine The Psychologist of the British Psychological Society brought in 2018 his article The age of illusions as lead story .
