Nicholas Jonas is the debut album by the US singer and actor Nick Jonas . It was released in 2004 and 2005 by INO Records (USA) and Columbia Records (Europe) , respectively .
Background and publication
Nick Jonas, who started his career in the musical, wrote the song Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer) with his father in 2002 while he was in the musical Beauty and the Beast . This then appeared on the album Broadway's Greatest Gifts: Carols for a Cure, Vol. 4 , which supported the Equity Fights AIDS campaign. In November 2003 the record label INO Records received a demo recording of the title and released it for radio stations, where the song was very successful, especially with religious broadcasters. In September 2004 Columbia Records became aware of the then twelve-year-old singer and decided to sign him with INO Records.
On October 30, 2004, Nick Jonas' debut single, Dear God, was released . On November 16, a second song from the album was released, Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer) . Both pieces of music were not placed in the charts. The full debut album was then available from December 2004 or January 2005. An exact date cannot be found because the CD was only released to a limited extent. Nick Jonas wrote many of the songs on his debut album with his brothers Joe and Kevin.
