Nicklas Helenius Jensen (born May 8, 1991 in Svenstrup ) is a Danish football player .

Career

Nicklas Helenius had started playing football as a youth at Svenstrup-Godthåb IF before moving to Aalborg BK's youth department . In his senior year he also came to some appearances for the second team, in which he also scored two goals.

He made his professional football debut on May 16, 2010, when he came on as a substitute for Mathias Wichmann on matchday 33 of the Superligaen against HB Køge in the 78th minute . Helenius and three other players were now part of the professional squad in the new season. In June 2010 he extended his contract term to 2014. At the end of August 2010 he took part in a reserve team tournament with the second team. In the game against league rivals Silkeborg IF he scored a goal. His first point goal he scored on September 12, 2010 on the eighth matchday against AC Horsens , after he had been substituted in the 77th minute for Jones Kusi-Asare and scored in stoppage time to 2: 3 final. Despite a regular place and a good impression on the coach, Helenius said that he still had to work hard on himself. In the 2010/11 season his club played against relegation; Helenius came to a total of 29 missions and five hits. He was also a regular in the following season. In 32 games he scored 14 goals and finished second in the top scorer list behind Dame N'Doye .

For the second half of the 2015/16 season , Helenius was awarded to the German second division club SC Paderborn 07 until the end of the season. In the 1-1 draw in the Ostwestfalen derby at Arminia Bielefeld on matchday 22 of the 2015/16 season, he scored his first goal in the second Bundesliga.

National team

At the beginning of the year he was used for the Danish U-21 national team. He made his debut on January 20, 2011 in a 3-0 win against Qatar in the starting eleven; at the beginning of the second half he was substituted for Matti Lund Nielsen . On September 6, 2011, he scored his first goal in qualifying for the U-21 European Football Championship 2013 . In the first game in the 3-0 win against Northern Ireland, he scored 1-0.

On March 28, 2011, he made his debut for the Danish U-20 national team when he faced the age group opponents from Portugal. On his debut, he was used from the start and was replaced in the 79th minute for Şaban Özdoğan . On May 31, 2011 he scored his first goal for the age group in a 2-1 win against Austria with the goal to make it 1-0. This game was his second and last appearance for the U-20.

For Denmark's senior national team , Helenius first appeared on August 15, 2012. In a 3-1 friendly defeat against Slovakia, he was substituted on for Nicklas Bendtner in the second half .
