Niclas Oettermann

Niclas Oettermann (born in Schramberg ) is a German opera and concert singer ( tenor ), playwright, songwriter and composer.

Life

Niclas Oettermann was born in the Black Forest . He studied comparative religious studies and philosophy at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , jazz singing and composition in Hilversum and classical singing in Trossingen .

He was a master student of Franco Corelli , Carlo Bergonzi , Júlia Hamari , Bruno Pola and Ion Buzea . He sang his first leading role as a tenor while still a student in the European premiere of the opera Orphée by Philip Glass under the direction of Dennis Russell Davies . In 1995 he won first prize at the Sylvia Geszty Singing Competition.

He had his first stage contract in 1996 as an actor at the Thalia Theater Hamburg. He sang several times at the Royal Albert Hall in London, was a guest soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra , the Berliner Festwochen , the MusikTriennale Köln , the WDR radio orchestra, the Palais des Festivals in Cannes and the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris.

His repertoire includes Italian, Spanish, French, English, German and Scandinavian vocal literature. In opera, his focus is on the great roles of the 19th and early 20th centuries. He sang over 40 leading roles in over 30 theaters, including: Paul in Die tote Stadt at the Stadttheater Bern , the Chemnitz Opera House and the Magdeburg State Theater, the title role in Hoffmann's Tales in Paris, the Saarbrücken State Theater, Biel City Theater and at the Gut Immling Opera Festival, Riccardo Un ballo in maschera at the Stadttheater Bern and Mainfrankentheater Würzburg, the Cavaradossi in Tosca at the OEK Kanazawa / Japan, at the Stadttheater Biel / Solothurn, at the Heidenheim Opera Festival and at the Stadttheater Bern, the Max in Der Freischütz at the Wuppertaler Bühnen and the Konzert Theater Bern and more.
