Niclas Weiland (born July 22, 1972 in Hanover ) is a former German soccer player .

The offensive player, who, like his younger brother Dennis and Christof Babatz , his future teammate at 1. FSV Mainz 05 , comes from the youth department of Germania Grasdorf, made his debut in 1990 at the age of 17 with the then second division team Hannover 96 . In his second and third appearances, the striker scored his first goals. In 1994 Weiland left Hanover and joined FC St. Pauli . After failing to assert himself there, he returned to Hannover 96 in 1995 and left the club a year after relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga. At his new club, the regional league club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , Weiland played for the first time with his brother in a team. Both Weilands only stayed a year. Niclas Weiland moved to the second division newly promoted Tennis Borussia Berlin in 1998 .

In 2001, like his brother, he was signed by the then second division club 1. FSV Mainz 05 , where he prevailed after an eight-month injury break and a comeback with two goals and one assist in a 5-1 win at SV Waldhof Mannheim . In the first season of the Mainz Bundesliga, he was one of the team's most dangerous offensive players. In the second year, Weiland, plagued by numerous small wounds, lost his regular place. His contract ran until the summer of 2006.

In the spring of 2011, Weiland completed a course to become a football coach (B license) at the Southwest German Football Association .
