Nicolás Miroslav Peric Villarreal (born October 19, 1978 in Talca , Chile ) is a Chilean football goalkeeper who is currently under contract with CSD Rangers . His nickname is Loco ( Spanish : crazy).

Career

In Chile

Nicolás Peric began his professional football career at CSD Rangers and played there for five years until he moved to Universidad de Concepción in 2004 , where he only stayed for a year. On December 4, he tested positive for cocaine and was suspended by CONMEBOL for six months. He and his teammates drank coca leaf tea before the game against Club Bolívar in La Paz , Bolivia , by also scoring a goal. After his suspension, he refused to compete for the club because the club was not able to pay his salary, so he was sold to the then defending champion Unión Española , where he was rarely used.

In 2006 he signed with Audax Italiano and spent the most successful time of his career there. He was runner-up with his club at the Copa Libertadores and finished the 2006/07 season in third place. Because of his good performance, he was appointed to the Chilean national football team for the South American continental championship Copa América in 2007 . During the 2007/08 season he moved to Turkey to Gençlerbirliği Ankara .

In Turkey

During his career in Turkey he played for Gençlerbirliği Ankara . There he was able to avoid relegation with his team and was runner-up in the Turkish Football Cup .

On December 2, 2008, the club separated from Peric, due to his injuries and lack of discipline.

In Argentina

In 2009 he was signed by Claudio Borghi and signed a one-year contract with Argentinos Juniors . He quickly established himself there as a regular player and played in 16 of 19 games. With Argentinos Juniors he was league champion in the 2009/10 season.

In Paraguay and Chile

In 2010 his contract was not renewed and therefore he moved to Paraguay to Olimpia Asuncion and then to CD Cobreloa in Chile. He stayed there for only one season and has been under contract with CSD Rangers since then . In 2014 he moved to Cobresal . In 2015 he won the Chilean championship with his team. He then returned to Audax Italiano, where he played for the next three years. Since mid-2018 he has been under contract with CSD Rangers again.
