Nicola Boem (born September 27, 1989 in San Donà di Piave ) is an Italian cyclist .

Career

Nicola Boem won the Trofeo Buffoni in the junior class in 2006 . The next year he finished second in the junior individual time trial behind the winner Alfredo Balloni at the Italian championship . After winning a stage at the Giro della Valle d'Aosta in 2010 and the one-day race Giro del Belvedere in 2011, he drove as a stagiaire with the Professional Continental Team Colnago-CSF Inox at the end of the 2012 season and received a regular contract there the following year. For this team he won a stage of the Tour of Denmark in 2014 . His greatest career success to date was achieved in 2015 with victory on the 10th stage of the Giro d'Italia , which he was able to secure in a sprint of a breakaway group.
