François Jongen

François Jongen (born September 20, 1961 in Nivelles ) is a Belgian legal scholar , writer and journalist .

Life

Jongen studied law and received his doctorate from the Université Catholique de Louvain to Doctor juris . He graduated from the Université Libre de Bruxelles with a degree in journalism and communication. He is professor of media law at the Université catholique de Louvain and is visiting professor at the Universities of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and Liège . In addition, he has been a lawyer in the bar associations of Brussels and Nivelles operates.

François Jongen has published several legal works in the field of media law. He is co-editor of the magazine Auteurs & Media , the Revue de Jurisprudence de Liège, Mons, Bruxelles and the magazine Administration publique . He was also deputy chairman of the board of directors of the RTBF, and a member of the board of directors of Régie Média Belge SA and deputy chairman of the Fédération des Jeunesses Musicales de la Communauté française .

Under the pseudonym Nicolas Blanmont , Jongen works as a music critic for the daily newspaper La Libre Belgique and the broadcaster RTBF . He gained fame here primarily through moderating the television broadcast of the Concours Reine Elisabeth and his weekly radio programs Le classique des classiques ( La Première ) and De vive voix ( Musiq'3 ).

Jongen also published three novels, numerous essays and a travel guide under his pseudonym. For the 575th anniversary of the University of Leuven in 2001, Jongen wrote the libretto for the oratorio Ludus Sapientiae by Pierre Bartholomée . Under the title Prima la musica, prime le parole , he wrote a biography of the conductor and countertenor René Jacobs .
