Life

The son of a New Zealander and an American came to his father's homeland as a small child and, not yet 20 years old, quickly found employment in Los Angeles as a small actor in Hollywood films. In addition to his intensive work in front of the camera, Coster also found time for theater work. Since March 1958 he has performed in New York City on and off and has since appeared in several of Broadway productions, including "The Browning Version" (1958), "The Apollo of Bellac" (1958), "A Month in the Country "(1959)," The Thracian Horses "(1961)," Hamlet "(1963)," The Death of a Salesman "(1963)," The Ninety Day Mistress "(1967)," Hello and Goodbye "(1968) , "Happy Birthday, Wanda June" (1970), "Twigs" (1971/72), "Otherwise Engaged" (1977) and "Getting Married" (1991).

Coster was temporarily married to the American actress Candace Hilligoss (* 1935), who is the mother of two of his three children.
