Nicolas Huibrecht "Nic" Hoydonckx (born December 29, 1900 in Zolder , † February 4, 1985 in Hasselt ) was a Belgian football player .

career

Nicolas Hoydonckx spent most of his senior career at Berchem Sport in Antwerp . In 1928, the full-back was used for the first time in the Belgian national team . That year he took part in the Summer Olympics in Amsterdam with the selection of his country . The Belgians beat Luxembourg 5-3 in the round of 16 and lost to Argentina 3-6 in the quarter-finals. Hoydonckx played in both games.

Also in 1928 he moved to REFC Hasselt . Two years later he was called up to the Belgian squad at the first World Cup in Uruguay . Belgium lost the group matches against the United States 3-0 and against Paraguay 0-1. Hoydonckx was on the starting line-up in both games. He played in the national team until 1933. He ended his career at RFC Tilleur.
