Nicolas Huynh Van Nghi

Nicolas Huynh Van Nghi (born May 1, 1927 in Vinh Hôi ; † May 6, 2015 in Phan Thiết ) was Bishop of Phan Thiết .

Life

Nicolas Huynh Van Nghi was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Saigon on June 29, 1953 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 1, 1974 auxiliary bishop in Saigon and titular bishop of Selsea . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Cardinal Agnelo Rossi , ordained him episcopal on August 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Paul Nguyên Van Binh , Archbishop of Saigon, and Philippe Nguyên-Kim-Diên PFJ , Archbishop of Huế .

On March 19, 1975 he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Phan Thiết . On December 6, 1979, he was appointed bishop of Phan Thiet. On April 1, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
