Nicolas Penneteau (born February 20, 1981 in Marseille ) is a French football player . The goalkeeper is under contract with Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian Division 1A .

Career

Penneteau began his career in the youth of SC Bastia and moved up there in 1998 in the first team. On January 29, 1999, he made his Division 1 debut in a 1-0 loss to Stade Rennes . From the 2001/02 season Penneteau was a regular goalkeeper. After a year of second division he moved to the 2006/07 season for Valenciennes FC . After the 2013/14 season , the club was relegated to Ligue 2. Penneteau, who has played 411 first division games in France and almost agreed with SC Bastia about a return to Corsica , moved to Sporting Charleroi in the Belgian division 1A .

In mid-June 2020, the extension of his contract until summer 2021 was announced.

National team

Penneteau played for the U20 and U21 national team of the French Football Association and took part in the 2001 U20 World Cup in Argentina .
