Nicolaus Rohlfs (born March 10, 1695 in Hamburg ; † September 29, 1750 in Buxtehude ) was a German mathematician, astronomer, surveyor and calendar maker . From 1722 he was typist and arithmetic master in Hohenfelde , from 1729 Arithmeticus at the city school in Glückstadt and from 1731 typist and arithmetic master in Buxtehude as successor to Paul Halcke . With the nickname "Der Ringende" he was a member of the "Art-Invoice Loving and Practicing Society", today's Mathematical Society in Hamburg. Rohlfs was an astronomical calendar , and later a "Royal Schleswig-Holstein House and Garden - Almanac " and various other papers out, which were continued by his son Matthias Rohlfs.
