Nicolaus Tacitus Zegers
Nicolaus Tacitus Zegers , also Tacitus Nicolaus Zegers , OFM (* around 1495 in Diest or Brussels , † August 22, 1559 in Leuven ) was a Belgian Franciscan theologian and exegete .
Zegers was a student of Frans Titelmans . He worked from 1536 to 1548 in the position of lecturer at the Franciscan convent in Leuven as the successor to Titelmans. Zegers systematically collected New Testament passages that appeared ambiguous or obscure in interpretation. He sought these passages purely philosophically, without interpreting any theological polemics.
