Nicole Rotzsch

Nicole Rotzsch (born May 20, 1976 in Querfurt ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2002 to July 28, 2015 she was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. Due to her election as mayor of the city of Querfurt, she resigned her state parliament mandate and was mayor of the city of Querfurt from July 1, 2015 to August 6, 2017. With effect from August 6, 2017, she resigned as mayor in June 2017.

Life

After graduating from secondary school in Querfurt in 1994, Nicole Rotzsch studied industrial engineering at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences from 1994 to 1998 . After completing her studies, she worked as a practical employee in the ergonomics laboratory at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences . Between 1999 and 2000 she had a teaching position at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Dessau. In 2000 Rotzsch initially worked as an assistant to the dean's office in the economics department at the Merseburg University of Applied Sciences and later as an assistant to the management of Deutsche Woolworth GmbH & Co. OHG Frankfurt am Main; However, it was used in Halle (Saale) . From 2001 to 2003 she worked in the controlling department at the Institute for Structural Policy and Economic Development Halle-Leipzig e. V.

From May 2002 to June 2015 Nicole Rotzsch was a member of the supervisory board of the housing cooperative Querfurt e. G.

She is married and lives in Querfurt. She is involved in voluntary work and a. as an honorary member of the association for the promotion of the volunteer fire brigade Farnstädt e. V. and in the disabled association Querfurt e. V. and as a member of the Friends of Music Querfurt e. V. and in the Förderverein Kirche Unterfarnstädt e. V.

Nicole Rotzsch joined the CDU in 1997. Since 2001 she was the deputy chairwoman of the CDU city association Querfurt and its chairwoman from 2006 to 2015. She was also a 2003-2007 deputy chairman of the CDU district association Merseburg -Querfurt from 2004 until 2007 Member of the council Merseburg-Querfurt. Due to the merger of the districts Merseburg-Querfurt and Saalkreis to Saalekreis , she took over the deputy chairmanship of the CDU district association Saalekreis from 2007 to 2014 and was elected a member of the district council of the Saalekreis. From 2009 to 2015 she was also a member of the Querfurt City Council, from July 2014 to June 2015 its chairman.

On April 21, 2002 Nicole Rotzsch won the direct mandate for constituency 41 (Querfurt) for the first time. She represented the region in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt until June 30, 2015 . The constituency 41 ( Querfurt ) until then comprised the cities of Querfurt, Müchi , Allstedt and the Goethestadt Bad Lauchstädt as well as the community of Weida-Land . In the 5th electoral term of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt, Nicole Rotzsch was chair of the study commission “The design of sustainable personnel development in the public service of Saxony-Anhalt” as well as deputy chair of the committee for regional development and transport and member of the committee for finance. On March 20, 2011, she was re-elected directly to the state parliament. In the 6th electoral term she was a member of the Committee for State Development and Transport. In addition, Nicole Rotzsch was appointed chairman of the “Women in Management Positions” advisory board, which advises the Prime Minister.

On March 1, 2015, Nicole Rotzsch won the election as mayor of the city of Querfurt with 53.24% of the vote. On July 1, 2015, she officially took over the official duties in the Querfurt town hall from her predecessor Peter Kunert .

In June 2017, she announced that she would step down as mayor on August 6, 2017 in order to be able to become managing director of the curative educational aid in Querfurt.
