description

The species in the Suaveolentes section are herbaceous plants that usually form a rosette , but occasionally this is not clearly pronounced. The leaves are sessile or winged-stalked and sticky hairy .

The flowers either open at night or are cleistogamous and do not open at all. The crown is slightly zygomorphic or radial symmetry, salver-shaped and colored white. The corolla tube is straight or too enlarged to the tip. The corolla lobes are rounded.

The number of chromosomes is n = 16, n = 18, n = 19, n = 20, n = 21 or n = 22.

distribution

The species are common in Australia and New Caledonia , but can also be found in Namibia .
