Niedźwiedź is a mountain in the Miedziane Grań massif in the Polish High Tatras in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship with an altitude of 1812 m npm
Location and surroundings
Below the summit is the Five Lakes Valley ( Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich ) in the west. The Niedźwiedź is located in the western ridge of the Kupferberg massif ( Miedziane ).
etymology
The name Niedźwiedź means “bear” , which comes from the fact that bears hibernate on its slopes.
First ascent
The ascent to the Niedźwiedź is quite easy. It can therefore be assumed that shepherds, miners and poachers have been climbing it since the 17th century at the latest.

There are no marked hiking trails on the Niedźwiedź.
The Schronisko PTTK w Dolinie Pięciu Stawów Polskich is located at the foot of the massif .
