The Nied nature reserve is located in the Saarlouis district in Saarland .

The area, which consists of several sub-areas, extends between Leidingen , a district of the municipality of Wallerfangen in the south and Eimersdorf , a municipality of Rehlingen-Siersburg in the north along the Nied . The state border with France runs southeast, and the Saar flows northwest .
