Under the name 3Landesmuseen Braunschweig which come Lower Saxony State Museum Braunschweig on together. This association of state-owned companies was founded in 2007. The business manager is Gerhard Göhring.

Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum

The Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum (BLM) was founded in 1891 as the “Fatherland Museum” and comprises one of the largest museum collections in Lower Saxony; from the hand ax , Trabi and church altar to the atomic clock , pagan grave goods and Torah scroll . It has four locations: Vieweg-Haus , Hinter Aegidien , Bauernhaus Bortfeld (currently closed) and Wolfenbüttel law firm .

The Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum (HAUM) is the oldest art museum in Europe with many art collections and is located in two locations: Museumstrasse and Dankwarderode Castle . The main building on Museumstrasse was completely renovated and reopened on October 23, 2016 after seven years of construction. In the Dankwarderode the original of is castle lion . He is the symbol of the city. Parts of the Guelph treasure and the imperial cloak of Otto IV can also be seen.

With up to 250 years old, the State Natural History Museum Braunschweig (SNHM) is one of the oldest natural history museums in the world. With around 440,000 objects (around 320,000 invertebrates, 75,000 vertebrates and 45,000 fossils) it is one of the largest natural history collections in Lower Saxony. Many dinosaur and animal skeletons as well as bird collections can also be seen there.
