Friedrich Adolf August Wilhelm Gottfried von Forell (born on July 21, 1811 at Strünkede Castle ; died on March 6, 1872 there ) was district administrator of the Prussian district of Bochum .

Life

origin

The still existing von Forell family came to Strünkede through marriage in 1810; the family had previously lived on the Lower Rhine. Friedrich von Forell's father, the Oberlandes syndikus and a Prussian captain a. D. Johann Christian August Friedrich von Forell, married Adolfine Karoline Wernerdine Friederike Freiin von Paland-Osterveen, a daughter of the last born von Strünkede , Sophie Charlotte Louise Henriette von Strünkede-Crudenburg. Friedrich von Forell's grandfather, Johann Peter Friedrich Wilhelm von Forell, received recognition from the Prussian nobility on July 10, 1803.

Career

After visiting the church school in Bochum Friedrich von Forell was at Easter 1829 with the maturity to Prima a school dismissed. As a direct consequence, on April 3, 1829 he joined the 16th Line Infantry Regiment von Sparr (3rd Westphalian) based in Düsseldorf , where he was promoted to Second Lieutenant in 1832 and Premier Lieutenant in 1847 . In January 1849 he was released from military service and moved into the family-owned Strünkede Castle with his family. In March of the same year he took over the first public function as an honorary officer of the Office of Herne, which was followed by the election of district deputy of the Bochum district in 1854.

After the district council unanimously elected Friedrich von Forell as the first candidate for the post of district administrator in the Bochum district on January 5, 1868, he was initially commissioned with its administration on February 25. The final appointment with simultaneous dispensation from the examination of aptitude followed the following year, on February 27th. After only four years in office, he died on duty.

family

Friedrich von Forell married Bertha Johanna Friederike Batz on July 2, 1844 in Düsseldorf (born on January 5, 1826 in Düsseldorf; died on January 14, 1899 in Baukau). The marriage produced three sons. Among them, the castle increasingly fell into disrepair due to mountain damage and was ultimately largely uninhabitable. In 1896 family members built a villa not far from the castle chapel . The castle itself was sold to the Harpener Bergbau-Gesellschaft in 1900. By this point in time, the property had sunk from around 125 to only 38.60 hectares due to the ongoing sale of the associated farms and cottages  .
