Moritz von Untzer

Moritz Johann Gottlieb Freiherr von Untzer (born on September 30, 1765 in Querfurt ; died after January 25, 1821) was a Prussian administrative officer and district administrator of the Hörde districts , Grafschaft Mark and the Bochum district , Westphalia province . By marriage he was the owner of the manor house Dorneburg near Eickel from 1796 .

Life

At the age of 23 Moritz von Untzer entered the service of the Prussian state in 1788. During his military career he rose to major and after his departure he served as district administrator of the Hörde district until 1807. As a result, he found employment as the grand ducal Bergischer economics commissioner of the Mailoher common division and Bergischer district council and tax auditor. From 1809 to 1810/11 he then held the office of sub-prefect in the arrondissement of Elberfeld and then until 1813 in the arrondissement of Hagen . In the same year he also became a member of the Legion of Honor . After the newly formed administrative district of Arnsberg had been divided , Moritz von Untzer was appointed the first district administrator in the Bochum district in 1817. He resigned from this office and public service at his own request because of his poor health on January 25, 1821.

Moritz von Untzer's first marriage in 1796 was Friderike Sophie Wilhelmine von Kuczinsky (according to another source Kuschinsky), a daughter of the Saxon captain August Friedrich von Kuczinsky, who came from Danzig, and his wife Wilhelmine Charlotte Kuczinsky, née von Dürfeld. Friderike Sophie Wilhelmine von Kuczinsky brought Dorneburg into the marriage as an inheritance. After her untimely death, Moritz von Untzer married Theodore Justine Grolman (born October 8, 1785 in Bochum), daughter of the Oberbergamtsassessor and Receptor in Bochum, on July 6, 1811 in Bochum, Moritz Grolman and his second wife, Henriette Margarethe Grolman, née Marck . Untzers' first marriage had two children and his last three children.
