history
The association is rooted in the organization committee - called the Association of Representatives of Lower Saxony Associations - of the Lower Saxony Day initiated by the Heimatbund Niedersachsen in 1902 . On October 6, 1905, the constituent assembly met to organize the event annually, with interruptions due to the First World War . In 1908 the representatives' day was renamed the Lower Saxony Committee for Homeland Security , at the end of the 1920s it was formed as the umbrella organization for homeland care throughout Lower Saxony and in 1929 took over the sole organization of the Lower Saxony Days. In 1934 the committee was entered in the register of associations under the name of Lower Saxony Homeland Security . Three years later the association was renamed to its current name.
Red wallet
The Rote Mappe has been the annual report on the situation of home care in Lower Saxony since 1960. It is handed over to the Lower Saxony state government by the Lower Saxony Homeland Association, the umbrella organization of Lower Saxony's homeland, local and civic associations . The Rote Mappe criticizes, praises and asks questions about the state of home care in Lower Saxony. In its early days it was a collection of various articles that the then President of the NHB Herbert Röhrig had put together in an envelope made of red saffiano leather . It is divided into the following areas:
- Nature conservation and landscape management
- Cultural landscape
- Monument preservation
- Soil monument maintenance
- Regional history and culture
- Low German and Sater Frisian
It is thus based on the specialist groups of the NHB. The contributions to the Rote Mappe are based on information from the Lower Saxony population or are submitted via members. Since 1977, the state government has responded to the questions of the red folder in the white folder , which are presented by the President of the NHB and the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony at the annual Lower Saxony Days.
